UNDIP COOPERATES WITH SAXION UNIVERSITY OF NETHERLANDS

Semarang, C Java, April 22 (ANTARA) - Representatives of Semarang based-Diponegoro University (Undip) and Saxion University of the Netherlands signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) here Wednesday, marking cooperation between the two high learning institutes.

The MoU was signed by Ir Bambang Purwanggono, 2nd assistant to the Dean of Undip's Technical School and Dean of the School of Environmental Planning and Building, Ms. Marjan Weekhout.

Undip's rector Prof Susilo Wibowo on the occasion hoped the cooperation could be implemented for a long period until the double degree program for master and doctorate level, in addition to the present under-graduate (S-1) level.

Prof Wibowo also hoped that the cooporation between the two universities can be expanded to other departments (faculties).

In the meantime, president of the Saxion University of Applied Sciences, Wim Boomkamp said his side hailed the cooperation, and the university also hoped to cooperate with other universities in Jakarta, Surabaya, and Yogyakarta.

According to Wim Boomkamp, Undip students will get an opportunity for a year studying at Saxion University.
