PRESIDENT YUDHOYONO RECEIVES MALAYSIAN PM
Jakarta, April 23 (ANTARA) - President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono received visiting Malaysian Prime Minister Dato' Sri Mohd Najib bin Hj Tun Abdul Razak at Merdeka Palace here on Thursday.
Prime Minister Najib Razak is on his first official visit to Indonesia for two days from April 22-23, 2009.
Arriving at the State Palace, the Malaysian Prime Minister was greeted with a series state military ceremony.
Presidential spokesman Dino Patti Djalal said earlier that in the state visit to Indonesia, the Malaysian prime minister would hold a bipartite meeting with President Yudhoyono.
On Thursday night, President Yudhoyono would host a state banquet for Prime Minister Najib Razak.
Besides the meeting with President Yudhoyono, the Malaysian head of government would meet with Vice President Jusuf Kalla, People's Consultative Assembly (MPR) Speaker Hidayat Nurwahid, and House of Representatives (DPR) Speaker Agung Laksono.
Najib Razak was inaugurated as Malaysian prime minister to replace Abdullah Ahmad Badawi on April 3, 2009.
In his visit to Indonesia this time, Najib Razak was accompanied by a number of Malaysian government officials such as foreign affairs minister, defense minister, trade minister, transportation minister, home affairs minister, agriculture minister and manpower minister.
Before becoming Malaysian prime minister, Najib Razak frequently came to Indonesia in his capacity as deputy prime minister in his bid to improve bilateral relations between the two countries.
