KALLA : GOLKAR REFUSES TO BE DICTATED
Jakarta, April 23 (ANTARA) - Golkar Party Chairman Jusuf Kalla who is also vice president said here Thursday his party did not want to be dictated in its efforts to build a coalition with other parties.
Kalla made the statement when opening the party's Special National Leadership Meeting (Rapimnasus) at the party's headquarters here.
"We have gone through a communication process but it met a deadlock. Therefore Golkar does not want to be dictated, and every coalition should be formed based on mutual agreement," Jusuf Kalla said.
He added that without a matching partnership, things could not run normally.
On the occasion, the Golkar Party chairman also expressed his appreciation to all Golkar Party cadres who were members of the present cabinet.
"Golkar will decide its own best cadre, and this will not be done by another party," Kalla said in a very careful manner while once in a while looking at the text of his speech.
As vice president, Kalla said, he had always tried to perform to the best of his capabilities, while the good and bad aspects of the government should be a common responsibility.
The Rapimnasus was attended by around 300 participants which were made up of chairmen and secretaries of regional and central executive boards.
