TELKOM TRAINS 1,000 ACEHNESE WOMEN TO ACCESS INTERNET
Banda Aceh, April 23 (ANTARA) - At least 1,000 women from various elements in Aceh Province received training on access to the internet from state telecommunication company PT Telkom as part of the commemoration of Kartini Day.
The women included members of Dharma Wanita (the association of civil servants' wives), Bhayangkari (the association of military personnel's wives) and PKK (the family welfare movement) of 23 districts/cities throughout Aceh Province, Zarwilis, head of the provincial branch office of Telkom, said here on Thursday.
The training course under a theme of "Facebook for Mam" was carried out in stages, and the first stage was conducted in Banda Aceh, Lhokseumawe, Langsa and West Aceh districts, he said.
The training is aimed at enabling the Acehnese women to operate the Internet which opens access to various knowledge and information.
