Yemen to host World Tourism Day in 2010




SANA'A, April 26 (Saba) - The 32nd meeting of the International Tourism Organization
for the Middle East has agreed for Yemen to host the two training courses, the first
is on marketing strategy and promotion and the second is on the management of
tourist destinations for 2010.

The meeting agreed to elect Yemen to host the Festival of World Tourism Day in 2010
under the motto "Tourism and Cultural Convergence on condition the organized
committee for International Tourism in Middle East."

It is worth to mention that Minister of Tourism Nabil al-Faqih has come back after a
successful participation in the 32nd meeting of the World Tourism Organization for
the Middle East as well as participated in the international conference about the
challenges of human resources for tourism which was held in Doha during 21-23 April,
2009.

During the conference, the minister reviewed Yemen's experience in tackling tourism
issues in conjunction with the global crisis for tourism as well as presented the
statistical report of 2008 and the first quarter of 2009.

The conference also discussed the project conception of world

Tourism Organization for tourism future till 2030 aiming to form a

global reference for the expectation tourism on the long-term and

re-organize the organization.



The conference reviewed the budget draft for 2010-2011 which will support in the
next meeting of executive office, in addition to the regional activities and
accommodations in the light of the continuing challenges and the global economic
setback.

The conference concentrated on activating human resources for tourism in the light
of how to develop human resources tourism, how to keep it on, how to develop
education of hotel and tourism and how to accommodate the training courses.
