NRI nabbed in India for sending threating emails

Mumbai, Apr 27 (PTI) A 43-year-old NRI (Non Resident of
India), who had allegedly sent e-mails about a plot to blow up
Hiranandani complex in suburban Powai, has been nabbed after
he arrived in the country from Saudia Arabia, Anti-Terrorism
Squad (ATS) officials has said.

"We have detained Anand, an NRI and a small time actor in
Kerala. He will be formally arrested after reaching Mumbai,"
an ATS officer told PTI.

He arrived in India in search of his "lost love"
following which he was nabbed, he said.

"We told his former partner to ring him up and call him
to India. After the call, Anand, who is a businessman in Saudi
Arabia, thought that he can get back his lost love. Our plan
worked and we managed to nab Anand from Kerala" the officer
said.

According to police, Anand developed affection with
vice-president of a firm when he frequented Powai. Then the
duo became partners a few years ago.

"However, a couple of months ago, the duo parted their
ways as the vice-president was seeing some other guy who is an
executive officer with a firm," the officer said.

"Enraged Anand wanted to teach a lesson to his boyfriend
so he sent threatening emails to info@hiranandani.net on
February 14 and 15. He claimed that a person called 'JJ' stays
in the complex and planning to blow it up", police said.

The emails came from karmavisva@yahoo.com and the IP
address was traced to Saudi Arabia, they added.

"When we traced the vice-president and his new partner
whose initials were JJ, the entire story was unfolded.

"We told the vice-president to ring up Anand and tell him
that he wants to patch up with him. Following this, Anand
decided to come back to get back his lost love," officer said.

"Instead of flying to Mumbai, he had gone to Kerala. We
accordingly laid a trap and caught him from there," police
said, adding further investigation was on. PTI
