Hyundai Heavy Industries` orders tumble 83 pct in Q1
SEOUL, April 27 (Yonhap) -- Hyundai Heavy Industries Co., the world's largest
shipbuilder, said Monday its new orders plunged 83 percent in the first quarter
from a year earlier due to decreased demand for new ships.
Hyundai Heavy Industries won US$1.86 billion worth of orders for marine engines,
construction equipment and other products in the three months to March, the
shipbuilder said in a regulatory filing.
The company, however, said it received no orders for new ships during the same
period.
