Shura Council`s chairman meets Omani delegation
SANA'A, April 27 (Saba)- Chairman of the Shura Council Abdul-Aziz
Abdul-Ghani met here on Monday with Head of Yemeni-Omani
Parliamentary Friendship Group Muslim Bin Ali al-Mashani along with
the group members.
The meeting dealt with a number of issues and topics related to the
bilateral relations between Yemen and the Sultanate of Oman and the
other issues of common concern.
In the meeting, Abdul-Ghani praised the role of the group and its
counterpart in the Yemeni Parliament in strengthening the current
brotherly ties between Yemen and Oman at the parliamentary and
public levels .
On other hand, Abdul-Ghani reviewed with the Omani delegation the
council's constitutional role and the constitutional amendments that
will lead to full legislative powers for the council during the next
two years and to essential developments at local ruling level and
the electoral system.
For his part, the Omani official voiced his happiness and the group
members to attend the session held by the council and to get
acquainted with the nature of the council's activity within its
constitutional duties.
The Omani official briefed Abdul-Ghani on the parliamentary role of
Oman Shura Council and its duties within the Omani Council which
also includes the State Council.
