KALLA WARNED AGAINST POLITICIANS TRYING TO 'ASSAINATE' HIS CHARACTER
Jakarta, April 27 (ANTARA) - The initiator of a Jusuf Kalla supporters' group called "JK 4 President Team", Zainal Bintang, called on the Golkar Party leader to be wary of people within and outside the party who were trying to assassinate his character.
"These people who can be likened to wolves in sheep's clothing are trying systematically to undermmine Jusuf Kalla's image, and therefore Kalla and other Golkar cadres should be on guard," Zainal Bintang said.
He said a number of people in the Golkar Party and Democratic Party elites were trying to entrap Jusuf Kalla in an unfavorable position and bring him to his downfall.
"We have already seen the action of several Democratic Party cadres who tried systematically to assassinate Jusuf Kalla's character," Bintang said, adding that they had formulated the criteria for a Democratic Party-supported vice presidential candidate in such a way as if Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono was reluctant to pair with Kalla.
At the same time, he said, there were also members of the Golkar elite who were so eager to become ministers that they were willing to sacrifice their loyalty to their own party and fell into the trap of the designs of the Democratic Party's e;ite.
"They even have the heart to abandon Jusuf Kalla in order to qualify to serve under Yudhoyono," Bintang said.
