Seoul stocks up 1.52 pct in late morning

SEOUL, April 29 (Yonhap) -- South Korean stocks traded 1.51 percent higher late
Wednesday morning as investors hunted for bargains following recent losses,
analysts said.

The benchmark Korea Composite Stick Price Index (KOSPI) rose 19.63 points to
1,319.87 as of 11:20 a.m.
"Bargain-hunting fueled the market gain, following a nearly 5-percent loss for
the last three sessions," said Lee Kyoung-su, an analyst at Taurus Investment &
Securities.
Most sectors traded in positive territory with brokerage shares rising sharply on
the bullish stock market.
The local currency was trading at 1,347.9 won to the U.S. dollar as of 11:20
a.m., up 8.9 won from Tuesday's close, after the Bank of Korea said the country's
current account surplus reached a record high of US$6.65 billion in March.
