Nong Shim posts 2.4 pct fall in Q1 profit
SEOUL, April 29 (Yonhap) -- Nong Shim Co., South Korea's largest instant-noodle maker, reported Wednesday a 2.4 percent decline in its first-quarter net profit due to raw material costs and a weak won.
Nong Shim earned 30.4 billion won (US$22.7 million) in the first three months of
this year, compared with a profit of 31.1 billion won for the same period a year
ago, the company said in a regulatory filing.
First-quarter operating profit also slightly fell to 33.9 billion won. Sales rose
11.7 percent to 460.6 billion won, according to the filing.
