Daewoo International Q1 net rises 45 pct By Nam Kwang-sik
SEOUL, April 29 (Yonhap) -- Daewoo International Corp., South Korea's second-largest trading company, said Wednesday its first-quarter earnings rose 45 percent from a year earlier on the back of gains from equity investments.
Net income reached 32.7 billion won (US$24.4 million) in the January-March
period, compared with 22.5 billion won the previous year, Daewoo International
said in a regulatory filing.
Sales fell 2 percent to 2.2 trillion won, while operating income rose 19 percent
to 45.6 billion won, it said.
Shares of Daewoo International ended up 5.73 percent at 29,500 won on the Seoul
bourse.
