FOUR COUNTRIES ASK RI TO SUPPLY RICE

Jakarta, April 29 (ANTARA) - At least four neighboring countries have asked Indonesia to supply rice when their rice stocks deplete.

Indonesia was currently discussing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on rice exports with the Philippines, President Director of Bulog (National Logistic Board) Mustafa Abubakar said here on Wednesday on the sidelines of a seminar on "Sustainable Rice Self-Reliance".

In addition to the Philippines, Malaysia, Timor Leste and Brunei Darussalam also asked for Indonesia's rice.

"So we strengthen each other for the food resilience of ASEAN," he said.
