AMBASSADOR EDDY PRATOMO PRESENTS CREDENTIALS TO GERMAN PRESIDENT
London, Apr 29 (ANTARA) - Indonesian Ambassador to the Federal Republic of Germany Eddy Pratomo presented his credentials to President Horst Kohler at the Bellevue Palace.
On the occasion the Indonesian ambassador also conveyed President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono's warm greetings to President Horst Kohler, an Indonesian embassy press release said Wednesday.
Ambassador Eddy Pratomo hoped the relations between the two countries could be further intensified and expanded in the future years, making Indonesia a German strategic partner in the Asian region.
Meanwhile President Kohler also expressed appreciation over the religious harmony in Indonesia, as predominantly Muslim nation, and underlined the need an exchange of experience in dialogues on the different civilizations in the world.
The Indonesian ambassador said the country has made several initiatives in the development and promotion of the Interfaith Dialogue, Intermedia Dialogue and Inter Cultural Dialogue both at bilateral and regional level.
On the occasion the ambassador hoped Germany would participate in holding the Global Interfaith Dialogue in Indonesia in 2010.
Ambassador Eddy Pratomo and President Kohler also discussed multilateral issues like a follow up to the result of the G-20 conference, the global financial crisis and protectionist issues.
Eddy Pratomo joined the foreign office in n 1984 and began his career as a young diplomat at the Indonesian Permanent Representative in New York (1986-1990), Indonesian permanent representative in Geneva (1994-1998), deputy head of the Indonesian embassy in London (2004), and Charge d'Affaires ad interim in London (2005-2006).
