PAS" ASKS WALHI TO WITHDRAW COMPLAINT TO FORESTRY MINISTER

Banda Aceh, Apr 29 (ANTARA) - The South Aceh Youths Association (PAS) has asked the Indonesian Environmental Watch (Walhi) to withdraw their complaints to Forestry Minister MS Kaban about a report to the National Police Headquarter following the issuance of a permit on the construction of the Trumon-Bulohseuma road on Thursday.

"We hope that Walhi,Aceh chapter, could withdraw the complaint, and we support the government efforts to free the Bulohseuma community from isolation," PAS Chairman Irvan Nusir said here on Wednesday.

Walhi's report to the police headquarter was seen as causing recklessness among the community living in Bulohseuma who are dreaming to get access to land, as the residents alleged that the complaints were designed to disrupt the ongoing road construction.

"Walhi should not only look at the map, also but try to look at the real condition of the community who had been hoping for land transportation availability," Irvan Nusir said.

Boluhseuma, Trumon sub-district, South Aceh district covers three villages, Raket, Kampung Tengoh and Kuta Padang with a total of 621 families.
Bulohseuma is known as a good quality natural honey producing center in Aceh.
