SHABWAH, April 29 (Saba) – A 25- year-old Yemeni man has shot
himself dead accidentally as he was dealing with his gun in Nesab
district, Shabwah, the Interior Ministry's Media Center has
reported.
The bullet entered below his left eye causing the immediate death of
the man, the police in the district said.
The Yemeni police register 2-5 gun shooting accidents a day, with
most victims young and youth, particularly of those who can't deal
with guns appropriately.
Last week, the two young sons of a Yemeni Gitmo detainee died when a
grenade they were playing with detonated at their house in Sana'a.
The boys, Yousuf 11 and Omer 10, were the sons of of Abdul Salam
al-Hila, a Yemeni businessman who has been held at the US jail in
Guantanamo, Cuba.
Al-Hila claims he was arrested in Egypt while on a business trip
while the US says the man was seized on terrorism charges.
