INDOFOOD`S NET PROFIT DROPS 70 PCT
Jakarta, April 30 (ANTARA) - PT Indofood Sukses Makmur Tbk's net profit in the first quarter of 2009 dropped 70 percent to Rp110.441 billion from Rp373.528 billion in the same period last year.
The company however stated in its financial report on Thursay that its sales still rose from Rp8.85 trillion in the period last year to Rp8.91 trillion this year.
The drop in the company's net profit was caused by a loss in exchange rate reaching Rp362.200 billion in the first quarter of 2009. Meanwhile cost of sales rose from Rp6.436 trillion to Rp6.648 trillion.
Other cost allocations also rose from Rp202.759 billion to Rp710.673 billion.
The company's profit before tax was down to Rp416.729 billion in the first quarter of 2009 from Rp1.021 trillion in the same period of 2008.
The company's total assets in the period was recorded at Rp40.832 trillion or rose from Rp32.059 trillion in the same period last year.***
