Yemen, UNICEF review cooperation
SANA'A, April 30 (Saba) - It has been inaugurated in Ministry of
Planning and International Cooperation the first session for
meetings of steering committee for the mid-term review between Yemen
and UNICEF organization for the period 2007-2011 chaired by planning
ministry deputy Hesham Abdullah.
In the meeting, Abdullah affirmed the important role of evaluating
activities supported by UNICEF organization to determine the
weakness point to correct the implementation plan in which to serve
the determined aims in the prepared plan of 2006 and its programs
for 2012-2017.
For her part, Deputy representative of UNICEF organization in Sana'a
Mary Fonseca confirmed readiness to activate and develop the
bilateral cooperation ties with Yemen, indicating the current
implementation plan of 2007-2011 which was signed in 2006 between
Yemen and UNICEF at $52 mln.
The mid-term review for the implementation plan represented to give
a chance to support activities as well as the attached with
necessary analysis in order to enable decision makers to benefit
from this project, she said.
On the other hand, Secretary-General of the Supreme Council for
Motherhood and Childhood Nafessa al-Gaefi pointed out the important
role of mid-term review for the plan program between Yemen and
UNICEF as well as to crystallize evaluation results to improve the
reality of childhood in Yemen.
