BOXING - CHRIS JOHN NEEDS INTENSIFIED TRAINING IN L.A.

Medan, N Sumatra, May 4 (ANTARA) - WBA feather weight (57.1 kg) title holder from Indonesia Chris John needs to intensify his training in Los Angeles for his repeat title defense against American challenger Rocky Juarez in Los Angeles on June 27, 2009.
The remark was made by former national boxer and Asia Pacific (OPBF) title holder Lamhot Simamora in Medan Sunday.

Chris John is currently training at Herry's Gym in Perth, Australia.

Earlier the non-title fight at Toyota Center, Houston, Texas, against his challenger Rocky Juarex in January 2009, was declared a draw (114-114), but since Chris John was the title holder, he was declared the winner.

In his defense title fight against Hiroyoki Enoki at Karakuen Hall in Toky in October last year, Chris John managed to defend his title after a full 12-round encounter.
Chris John even managed to defend his "The Dragon" title when defeating Japanese pugilists Osamu Satu and Zaiki Takemoto. In his fight against Zaiki Takemoto in 2007, Chris won against the Japanese boxer with a TKO in the eighth round.
