21 killed as matador falls into river in J-K

Jammu, May 4 (PTI) Twenty-one people were killed and
nine others injured, four of them critically, when a matador
skidded off the road and fell into Chenab river in Kishtwar
district in India's northern state of Jammu and Kashmir,
Monday morning.

The matador, which was going from Kishtwar to Palmar,
fell into the river at Banderkoot at 8.30 am, police said.

Police and army launched a rescue operation soon after
the mishap and 21 bodies have been recovered so far.

Four of the injured were in a critical condition and
were being airlifted to Government Medical College Hospital
here. PTI
