POLISH GOVT TO PROVIDE MUSICAL SCHOLARSHIP TO INDONESIAN STUDENTS NEXT YEAR

Jakarta, May 4 (ANTARA) - Polish Ambassador to Indonesia Tomasz Lukaszuk said there was a possibility of providing a scholarship to Indonesian students to study music in Poland next year in the framework of commemorating International Chopin (a Polish musician).

The statement was made at a press conference here on Monday following the appearance of Polish singer Anna Maria Jopek in Indonesia for the first time on a concert tour of Asia.

"We present our best musicians and Anna is one of them, because she is quite well-known in the world," Lukaszuk said.

In addition to political and official state relations, he added, the Polish embassy also encouraged musicians as a delegation to extend cultural message, namely through a music performance.

Asked about a planned cooperation in musical education, Lukaszuk said that his side had cooperated with one of the leading music schools in Jakarta.

Such singer is a graduate of Chopin's Acadamy of Music in Warsaw, capital of Poland, and will hold a concert at the Grand Melia Hotel on May 5 and 6, at 19:00 local time.
