FIRE RAZES SEVEN RENTED HOUSES IN BALI
Denpasar, Bali, May 4 (ANTARA) - A fire ravaged seven rented houses on Hangtuah Sanur Street here on Monday.
The fire started at one of the houses and later spread to the nearby buildings in a relatively short time, an eyewitness said.
Fire fighters had difficulties putting out the blaze because of difficult access to the scene. They later managed to extinguish the fire thanks to their hard work.
Chief of the South Denpasar police precinct Adj. Comsr Gede Ganefo who also inspected the scene said he could not yet establish the cause of the fire.
"I believe the fire originated from the kitchen of one of the houses. But it was not clear whether the fire was caused by a stove explosion or electrical short-circuit because every thing is still being investigated," he said.
The fire which broke out at 08.30 a.m. lasted for more than three hours.
No casualty was reported in the fire.
