AUSTRALIA PROVIDES CLEAN WATER ASSISTANCE FOR WEST LOMBOK

Mataram, NTB, May 4 (ANTARA) - About 2,000 villagers of Geria village, West Nusa Tenggara province will be able to enjoy clean water supply after a clean water project assisted by Australia is finished, a local official said.

"The development of sanitation and clean water project in Geria village will be observed by Australian Ambassador to Indonesia Bill Farmer on Tuesday," Head of NTB Regional Development Planning Board (Bappeda), Rosiady Sayuti said here on Monday.

He said that about 70 percent of areas in villages in the province had not yet been covered by water supplies while those in urban areas water supplies had not yet covered 40 percent.

The ambassador will also observe a maternity post and health care service for expectant mothers in the village.***
