RI SENDS TEAM TO CHINA TO DISCUSS MNA-XAC CASE
Beijing, May 4 (ANTARA) - Indonesia will send a team of several government officials to China to discuss the solution of an issue between Merpati Nusantara Airlines (MNA) and Xi'an Aircraft Industry Co Ltd (XAC).
"The team will leave for China this month to discuss the issue between the two airline companies," Indonesian Ambassador to China Sudrajat said here on Monday.
He said the visit of the Indonesian team to China was to reciprocate the visit of a Chinese team to Indonesia in April this year for the same purpose.
According to Sudrajat, the Indonesian team would be made up of representatives from the Home Affairs Ministry, Finance Ministry, Transportation Ministry, and MNA.
The Indonesian envoy said that while in China the team would meet among others with the Ministry of Commerce of the People's Republic of China (MOFCOM) which was responsible for administering China's foreign trade, economic cooperation and foreign investment, and other department which was specially formed to speed up the solution of the MNA-XAC problem.
He said the visit was considered important and strategic in the two countries effort to overcome the problem amicably.
