AUSTRALIAN PARLIAMENTARY SECRETARY VISITS NTB
Mataram, May 4 (ANTARA) - Australian Parliamentary Secretary for International Development Assistance Bob McMullen MP is on a four-day visit to West Nusa Tenggara (NTB) from May 4-7, 2009.
NTB provincial administration public relations chief Andi Harianto said here on Monday that McMullen was visiting the province to dedicate a number of projects carried out with Australian government assistance.
He said the Australian delegation during the visit would meet with Governor HM Zainul Majdi on Tuesday before dedicating Gerung secondary school, SMPN-5 in Lombok Barat district.
After that the Australian delegation would visit the site of National Program for People's Empowerment (PNPM) at Tapen village in West Lombok, and the site of sanitation and clean water facility at Kuripan village in the same district.
McMullen is also scheduled to dedicate Australia-Nusa Tenggara Assistance for Regional Autonomy at NTB development planning board (Bappeda) office.
On the occasion, chief of National Board for the Placement and Protection of Indonesian Migrant Workers (BNP2TKI) Mohammad Jumhur Hidayat would give a presentation on migrant workers.
It would be continued with a round table meeting with the governors from NTB, NTT, Papua, West Papua, and the secretary general of Home Affairs Ministry.
"Issues related to provincial development program, regional autonomy, decentralization, the challenge and impact of global economic crisis on regional government will be discussed at the round table meeting at Senggigi tourist resort," Andi Harianto said.
