CANADA TO PARTICIPATE IN IPA EXHIBITION 2009
Jakarta, May 4 (ANTARA) - The Canadian Embassy will take part at the Indonesia Petroleum Association or IPA exhibition which will run from May 5 to 7, 2009 at the Jakarta Convention Center.
The Canadian Embassy in its press release issued here Monday said the goal of Canada's participation at the exhibition is to promote Canadian Oil and Gas equipments and services capabilities and expertise.
This year, six Canadian companies will be featured at the Canadian pavilion and they represent a wide range of Canadian capabilities in this sector.
The Canadian participants include Hatfield Consultants (environmental consulting services), McKinney Machine Company Ltd (drilling equipment), Savanna Energy Services Corp (contract drilling and well servicing company), Toromont Energy Systems (natural gas compression), Weir Group (instrumentation, automated data collection and analysis systems), and Zedi Inc (supervisory control and data acquisition - SCADA system).
"Canadian oil and gas companies are among the leaders within the industry and they have world class expertise which will contribute positively to the development of the petroleum industry in Indonesia," said Canadian Ambassador to Indonesia, John Holmes.
"I hope through this event, Canadian companies will be able to meet potential partners and establish new business relationships in Indonesia," the statement said.
Canada is the world's third largest producer of natural gas (6 TCF per year), and the nine largest producer of crude oil (2.6 million barrels per day).
The oil sands in Alberta contain the second-largest proven oil reserves in the world and currently represent nearly 50 percent of Canada's oil production.
Oil sands production was 1.2 million barrel per day in 2007 and is expected to reach 3.3 million barrels per day by 2020.
Canadian oil and gas equipment and services are provided by approximately 2.300 enterprises and their 55.000 personnel.
These companies have world-class expertise in many areas including drilling equipments and services, geophysical prospecting equipment, SCADA equipment, engineering and project management as well as pipeline technology.
