Aircraft makes emergency landing in central S. Korea: air force

By Sam Kim
SEOUL, May 4 (Yonhap) -- A military training aircraft made a forced landing
Monday in central South Korea, the country's air force said. Its two pilots were
hospitalized, but are in stable condition.
The L-2 apparently failed to propel soon after taking off at 1:30 p.m. from an
airbase in a Chungcheong province, forcing its pilots to land in a nearby
vineyard, the air force said in a statement.
The L-2 is a U.S.-made observation aircraft that can fly at a maximum speed of
250 km per hour while carrying 1,500 kg of munitions.
