Sensex attracts profit-selling, down by 70 pts





Mumbai, May 5 (PTI) The Indian Bombay Stock Exchange
benchmark Sensex Tuesday opened lower by over 70 points at
12,062.87 points on emergence of profit-selling by funds at
existing higher levels.

The 30-share barometer, which recorded biggest one-day
gain of the year by rising 731.50 points Monday, attracted
profit-selling and lost 71.88 points at 12,062.87 points in
the first five minutes of trade.

Similarly, the wide-based National Stock Exchange index
Nifty fell by 31.80 points to 3,622.20 points.

Marketmen said selling emerged after the Sensex recorded
biggest gain of the year by crossing the 12,000-points level.
