PRESIDENT ILHAM ALIYEV RECEIVES US DELEGATION LED BY ACTING DEPUTY ASSISTANT SECRETARY OF DEFENSE FOR EUROPEAN AND NATO POLICY
Baku, 5 May (AzerTAc). Azerbaijan President Ilham Aliyev has today received a US delegation led by Acting Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense for European and NATO Policy, Mrs. Mary Warlick.
Mrs. Warlick offered US President Barack Obama`s condolences to the Azerbaijani leader over a shooting at the Azerbaijan State Oil Academy which claimed many lives.
She said she is in Baku to attend an international conference entitled “NATO-Azerbaijan: Assessing the past, looking at the future” marking the 15th anniversary of Azerbaijan`s joining NATO Partnership for Peace Program.
Mrs. Warlick also praised Azerbaijan`s contribution to peacemaking operations in Iraq and Afghanistan.
President Ilham Aliyev asked Mrs. Mary Warlick to extend his appreciation to the US leader for his condolences.
The President said the Azerbaijan-USA relations were developing.
President Ilham Aliyev also touched upon the Azerbaijan-NATO cooperation, saying it was expanding as well.
