PRESIDENT OPENS IPA CONVENTION
Jakarta, May 5 (ANTARA) - President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono officially opened the 33rd Convention and Exhibition of the Indonesia Petroleum Association (IPA) at the Jakarta Convention Hall here on Tuesday.
The function was also attended by Energy and Mineral Resources Minister Purnomo Yusgiantoro, Head of Upstream Oil and Gas Regulating Board R Priyono, Jakarta Governor Fauzi Bowo and IPA President Roberto Lorato
President Yudhoyono addressed the annual gathering of executives in the upstream oil and gas sector.
The convention carried the theme: "Managing Resources and Delivering Energy in A Challenging Environment." It reflected the challenge faced in the oil and gas business amid the threat of global recession and a decline in oil and gas prices in the world market.
On the occasion, the president witnessed the signing of contracts for the exploitation of 12 oil and gas blocks, three coal bed methane blocks and five sale-purchase contracts.***1***
