POLISH SINGER ANNA MARIA MESMERIZES AUDIENCE IN JAKARTA
Jakarta, May 5 (ANTARA) - Polish noted jazz singer Anna Maria Jopek mesmerized a great number of audience including foreign ambassadors when she sang a number of songs in her concert tour here on Tuesday evening.
Anna's performance which took about one hour and a half, was followed by a reception organized by the Polish embassy.
Anna (39) staged her concerts in three cities, Denpasar, Surabaya and Jakarta from April 30 to May 5, 2009 as part of her Asian tour.
After her performance in Jakarta, Anna - a graduate of Chopin's Academy of Music in Warsaw, Poland, will continue her show in Singapore and Japan where she has many fans.
Anna who is also a well-trained pianist, arrived in Jakarta on Monday (April 27), said Maria Lukaszuk, Polish Embassy's cultural councellor.
Earlier, Polish ambassador Tomasz Lukaszuk told the press here Monday that his side was planning to provide scholarships for several Indonesian students to study music in Poland in 2010 on the occasion of the commemoration of the Polish international classical musician Chopin.
The Polish embassy has also established musical cooperation with one of the leading musical schools in Jakarta, the envoy added.
