“AZERBAIJAN AND TURKEY MUST WORK TOGETHER TO ENSURE THEIR INTERESTS” AZERI DEPUTY FM

Baku, May 6 (AzerTAc). Azerbaijan and Turkey must work together to ensure their interests, said Azeri deputy foreign minister Araz Azimov.
“The two countries have common interests: ensuring regional security and making Armenia recognize the territorial integrity of its neighbors and withdraw its forces from the occupied territories of Azerbaijan,” Azimov noted.
“No concessions will be made in talks to find a solution to the Armenia-Azerbaijan conflict over Nagorno-Karabakh. All occupied lands of Azerbaijan must be unconditionally freed. The Nagorno-Karabakh will remain part of Azerbaijan, and a concrete model will be prepared to ensure the two communities’ living in peace here.”
“But this can be achieved only after the people return to their homelands, roads are open, cooperation is established and security is ensured. Without these elements, establishing normal situation in the region is impossible.”
Azimov said the peace talks were being continued on the basis of principles put forward by the OSCE Minsk Group`s co-chairs.
The Azeri deputy FM also touched upon his recent visit to Ankara, saying he met with Turkey`s new foreign minister Ahmet Davutoglu to discuss bilateral and regional problems, including security.
