AZERI FM MEETS US SECRETARY OF STATE
Washington, May 6 (AzerTAc). Azerbaijan`s Foreign Minister Elmar Mammadyarov has met US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton.
Prior to the meeting, Mammadyarov and Clinton spoke to journalists. The US Secretary of State said the two countries have very common views on a number of issues.
“Today`s meeting with Mr. Mammadyarov will allow us to explore ways to further expand and deepen our relations,” she added.
Clinton pointed to Azerbaijan`s strategic location, saying it is very important both for the region and the whole world.
Mammadyarov said he hopes the talks with the US Secretary of State will serve to take the cooperation with the United States forward.
As part of his visit, Mammadyarov also met US National Security Adviser James Jones and Special Envoy for Eurasian Energy, Ambassador Richard Morningstar to discuss the Azerbaijan-US relations, Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, Azerbaijan`s contribution to global anti-terror war, and Eurasian energy infrastructure.
