Hyundai Motor`s overseas output surpasses exports

SEOUL, May 6 (Yonhap) -- Overseas production by Hyundai Motor Co. surpassed
exports from local plants last month, underscoring the South Korean carmaker's
goal of global expansion, company data showed Wednesday.
Hyundai's overseas output stood at 125,364 units in April, compared with 117,978
units produced domestically, according to the data.
The figures mark the third time that Hyundai's overseas output has exceeded
domestic production.
To avoid labor strife at home and better cope with currency fluctuations, Hyundai
has aggressively built overseas plants.
Hyundai has assembly plants in China, India, the United States, the Czech
Republic and Turkey.
