WORLD CPO PRICE SHOWING UPWARD TREND
Jakarta, May 6 (ANTARA) - Crude palm oil (CPO) prices in the world market are expected to continue to increase in line with rising demand for the commodity of late, a commodity market analyst said.
"CPO prices have continued to increase over the past two weeks. The price per kg of CPO at the Jaint Marketing Board (KPB) has reached Rp8,900," price analyst at the PKB office of PT Perkebunan Nusantara, Tri Hardoyo, said here on Wednesday.
He said that besides high demand for CPO from China and India, the upward trend in the CPO price was also being fueled by an increase in the crude oil price in the world market.
During the past two weeks, the price of CPO at Jakarta's KPB had continued to increase from Rp8,300 per kg to Rp8,900 on Tuesday.
On Wednesday, however, no price had been agreed between the KPB and traders, though the KPB office had offered a price of Rp8,990 per kg while traders' offer was Rp8,800 per kg, Hardoyo said.
He expressed optimism that CPO price would continue to improve in the coming several days in line with the rising demand and increase in the crude price in the world market.
"We will continue to monitor the development of CPO prices in the world market," he said.***2***
