TWENTY THOUSAND HECTARES OF FOREST IN LEBAK IN CRITICAL CONDITION

Lebak, Banten, May 6 (ANTARA) - A total of 20,000 hectares of forests in Lebak district, Banten, are now in a critical condition that needs immediate rehabilitation, reforestation and preservation, a forestry official said.

Head of the Lebak Forestry Service Asep Mauladi said here on Tuesday that his office was planning to launch a rehabilitation program in the critical forest area.

The reforestation program has actually been carried out in the 2003-2008 period on 13,000 hectares of forest areas. Mauladi said that it was expected the rehabilitation program, which was launched every year would be able to help overcome Lebak's critical areas.***3***
