SAUDI ARABIA TO HANDOVER SIX MAJOR PROJECTS IN ACEH


Jakarta, May 7 (ANTARA) - Saudi Arabia, in this case the Saudi Charity Campaign which is directly under the auspices of Prince Naif bin Abdul Aziz, is scheduled to hand over a number of development projects in Aceh soon.

The Saudi embassy in Jakarta disclosed early this week that the handing over of six projects will take place on May 25 in the presence of Nanggroe Aceh Darussalam Governor Dr. Irwandi Yusuf and Saudi Ambassador Abdurrahman Muhammad Amin Al-Khayat.

The six projects are 74 houses in the housing complex of Universitas Ar-Raniri lecturers; 33 units in the religious police housing complex, 157 houses in Weh Raya; 172 houses in Lampaseh, Banda Aceh, an orphanage in Lampyong, Banda Aceh, and another orphanage in Lhoong, Aceh Besar.

The two orphanages, the Saudi embassy said, were equipped with modern facilities.

The Saudi Charity Campaign in Aceh province had been developing 17 projects, seven already completed.

Another seven projects are scheduled for completion in the next six months, and in mid-2010, three projects will be handed over to the recipients. The three projects comprised 340 homes in Labuai, 72 houses in Naihun, and 256 homes in Ujung Muloh.

According to plan, all the projects will be handed over by advisor to the Saudi foreign minister and president of the the Saudi Charity Campaign Dr Saad Al Harithy to the rightful recipients.
