HEADS OF EUROPEAN NEWS AGENCIES GATHER IN ZAGREB
Zagreb, May 7 (AzerTAc). The European Alliance of News Agencies (EANA) is holding its conference here on the subject “News Agencies & the Economic Slump – Business Opportunities and Threats”.
Director General of AzerTAc Aslan Aslanov and head of section Nazim Khidirov are also among the participants in the event.
The conference was opened by Mr. Matyas Vince, President of EANA, Director General of the Hungarian agency MTI, who expressed confidence the event would feature useful exchange of views on how to reduce the impact of the world economic crisis on news agencies.
Mrs. Smiljana Skugor-Hrncevic, Director General of the Croatian news agency HINA, thanked the EANA leadership for holding such an important event in her country.
Other speakers at the conference included Jim Kennedy, Vice President of the Associated Press, Clive Marshall, CEO of the Australian Associated Press, Eric Scherer, Director for Strategic Analysis, Partnerships and External Relations at the Agence France Presse, and Peter Kropsch, Chief Executive of the Austria Presse Agentur.
The conference will run until May 10.
