Doosan Infracore swings to loss in Q1 on reduced sales


SEOUL, May 8 (Yonhap) -- Doosan Infracore Co., South Korea's largest maker of
construction equipment, said Friday that it swung to the red in the first quarter
of the year due to a slump in sales.

The company logged a loss of 124 billion won (US$99 million) in the January-March
period, compared with a profit of 61.4 billion won a year earlier, the company
said in a regulatory filing.
Sales dropped 32 percent to 651.6 billion won over the cited period, while
operating income dropped 68 percent to 44 billion won.
Shares of Doosan Infracore were trading at 19,450 won on the Seoul bourse as of
2:05 p.m., down 2.75 percent.
