Cooperation between Yemen and Jordan in restoring manuscripts


SANA'A, May 07 (Saba)- Minister of Guidance and Endowments Hamoud
al-Hitar discussed on Thursday with the director of the Jordanian
documentation center Mohammed al-Adwan aspects of the mutual
cooperation between Yemen and Jordan in field of restoring and
documentation of ancient manuscripts.

They also discussed measures of carrying out a project of restoring
the manuscripts and documents of endowments in Yemen.

Al-Adwan affirmed concern of Jordan to help Yemen in restoring
manuscripts as Yemen is rich of Islamic and Arab manuscripts dated
back to 50 A.H.

He demonstrated experiences of the Jordanian center in restoring
Iraqi and Moroccan manuscripts, saying that the center is ready to
send two Jordanian experts in field of the digital photocopy for the
documents as well as training Yemeni cadres in this field.

Al-Hitar also affirmed concern of the ministry to do the project as
soon as possible, showing desire of Yemen to benefit from the
experience of the Jordanian experience.

He pointed out to the possibilities of forming a joint work team
from the ministry and center to make photocopy for the manuscripts
and documents.
