SPEAKER OF AZERBAIJAN PARLIAMENT MEETS CHAIRMAN OF GREECE-AZERBAIJAN INTERPARLIAMENTARY WORKING GROUP
Baku, May 8 (AzerTAc). Speaker of Milli Majlis (Parliament of Azerbaijan) Ogtay Asadov met Thursday with Konstantinos Tsiaras, Chairman of Greece-Azerbaijan Interparliamentary Working Group.
Mr. Asadov underlined that relations between Azerbaijan and Greece were rapidly developing in policy, economy, humanitarian and other areas. The numerous documents signed during the reciprocal visits of the two countries` presidents created a legal basis for cooperation. Visit of President of Azerbaijan to Greece, on February 2009 opened a new page in the relations.
Speaker praised visit of Deputy Chairman of Greece Parliament to Azerbaijan, who participated in the 90th jubilee of Azerbaijani Parliament.
Mr. Tsiaras underlined that visit of Azerbaijan President Ilham Aliyev to Greece opened a new page in development of relations of friendship between the two states and nations. Greece keens in all-round development of relations with Azerbaijan, said Chairman.
The sides also exchanged views on Nagorno Karabakh conflict, joint cooperation in international arrangements, role of Azerbaijan in European energy security and other issues of mutual interest.
