27,811 UXO AND MINES DEMOLISHED IN APRIL

Baku, May 8 (AzerTAc). Azerbaijan National Agency for Mine Action (ANAMA) has cleared the territory of 3 million 355 thousand 51 square km of 27,811 mines and UXO in April, 2009, press service of the Agency said. Reportedly, the operations involved 425 sappers, 115 assistants, 5 UXO operators and 30 mine detection dogs.
Mine clearing works underway in the territories of Tartar, Agdam, Fuzuli, Tovuz, Agjabady, Agstafa and Samukh regions.
