QUAKE INTENSITY OF ANAK KRAKATAU INCREASING, ALERT STATUS DECLARED
Bandarlampung, May 8 (ANTARA) - Head of the Mt Anak Krakatau monitoring post in Hargopancoran village, Kalianda, South Lampung Andi Suwardi said the volcano until Friday afternoon had increased its shallow volcanic shocks from 78 to 97 times, prompting its status raised to alert level.
"But the number of eruptions declined from 197 to 81, tremors from 62 to 15, and bellows from 293 to 122. Its deep volcanic tremors had not been detected," he said in South Lampung Friday. ***3***
