Top Lashkar militant killed

Jammu, May 9 (PTI) A self-styled divisional commander
of Lashkar-e-Toiba outfit and his bodyguard were killed in a
gunbattle with security forces in Doda district, 140 kms from
here, early Saturday morning.

On a tip off about presence of militants in the house
of a local in Dar area of the district Friday night, security
forces carried out a search operation and soon an encounter
took place between the two sides, police said.

The LeT militant identified as Abu Sumanan and his
bodyguard Barkat were killed in the encounter that lasted
about 10 hours.
An AK rifle, a pistol and some ammunition was
recovered from the slain militant. PTI
