Nepal crisis an internal matter of that country: PM

Chennai, May 9 (PTI) Expressing deep concern over the
situation in Nepal, Prime Minister Manmohan Singh Saturday
hoped the polity of that country would be able to resolve its
"internal" crisis.

"What is happening in Nepal is of deep concern to us," he
said at a press conference here in the capital of the
southern Indian state of Tamil Nadu.

Singh, however, said it was "essentially an internal
matter".

He hoped the Nepali polity will be able to resolve the
difficulties that have arisen and which have led to the
resignation of the government there.

The political crisis in Nepal was sparked by Maoist
Prime Minister Prachanda's resignation after President Ram
Baran Yadav blocked his move to sack army chief General
Rukmangad Katawal. PTI
