HCM City: Disabled and AO victims receive more help
Hanoi (VNA) - A total of 5,000 trade unionists and volunteers
joined a charity walk organised by the Ho Chi Minh Red Cross Society on May 10.
The organising board raised more than 100 million VND from the activity
for the Fund for the Disabled and Agent Orange Victims.
The association also received 600 units of donated blood the same day. It
is expected to receive around 40,000 units of blood donated during the
movement "drops of blood" launched by the Vietnam Red Cross Society's
Central Committee from May 8-Sept. 2.
The Ho Chi Minh Red Cross Society said that it has so far received more
than 148 billion VND to help poor people and almost 162,000 organisations
and individuals have registered to render help.-Enditem
