USAID support for democracy in Yemen discussed

SANA'A, May 11 (Saba)- Two member of the Supreme Commission for
Elections and Referendum (SCER) Mohammed al-Saiani and Mohammed
al-Saqaf held talks with a representative of US Agency for
International Development USAID to Yemen Robert Bakman over mutual
cooperation between Yemen and the USAID in filed of elections and
democracy.

They also reviewed aspects of the support presented by the UA agency
for Yemen in this filed, and promoting the democracy as well as
possibilities of offering further support for the commission in
coming period, especially in spreading awareness on elections and
promoting women participation in elections process.

The two members valued that technical and financial assistance
offered by the USAID to the commission, affirming concern of the
commission continuing of the support of the agency.

The USAID representative voiced concern of the agency to develop the
electoral process and democracy in Yemen.
