Seoul stocks down 0.91 pct in late morning

SEOUL, May 12 (Yonhap) -- South Korean stocks traded 0.91 percent lower late Tuesday morning as investors were worried that recent sharp gains could inevitably lead to a market correction, analysts said.

The benchmark Korea Composite Stock Price Index (KOSPI) fell 12.91 points to
1,404.25 as of 11:20 a.m.
Financial shares led the falls on the Seoul bourse as lingering concerns over the
U.S. banking sector weighed them down.
The local currency was trading at 1,245 won to the U.S. dollar as of 11:20 a.m.,
down 7.1 won from Monday's close.
