AZERI OMBUDSPERSON MEETS FINLAND FOREIGN MINISTRY`S OFFICIALS
Baku, May 19 (AzerTAc). Human Rights Commissioner of Azerbaijan Elmira Suleymanova met Monday with Paivi Peltokoski and Nina Vaskunlahti, officials of Finland Foreign Ministry`s Department for Russia, Eastern Europe and Central Asia.
Mrs. Suleymanova briefed them on the work done in Azerbaijan to protect human rights and freedoms. She said National Action Plan for the Protection of Human Rights was approved in the country.
Suleymanova pointed out branches of the Ombudsman office function in the country`s Guba, Sheki, Jalilabad and Ganja provinces, adding they are conducting enlightenment activities among people.
Nina Vaskunlahti praised the work done by the Ombudsman office to protect human rights and freedoms in the country.
