AZERBAIJAN AND ISRAEL SIGN AGREEMENT OF COOPERATION
Baku, May 19 (AzerTAc). Agreement on cooperation was signed between Israeli Institute of Export and International Cooperation and Azerbaijan`s Export and Investments Promotion Foundation (AZPROMO) as a part of Israeli-Azerbaijan business-forum held in Israel.
Israeli Ambassador in Baku Arthur Lenk praised participation of top-ranking officials from Azerbaijan. Ambassador expressed hope that Azerbaijan would soon open its Embassy to Israel. Head of Israeli Institute of Export David Artshi suggested to hold business forum in Azerbaijan next year.
Head of AZPROMO Rahim Huseynov expressed the necessity to attract Israeli specialists in science, agriculture, information technologies and telecommunications to Azerbaijan. “In 2008, Azerbaijan purchased Israeli production to the amount of 129 mln dollars. Israel is a real friend and business partner of Azerbaijan. We hope our business relations become strengthen and commodity turnover increased”, Mr. Huseynov added.
Currently, 165 Israeli companies are functioning in Azerbaijan. Last year, import from Azerbaijan made about 3,5 bln dollars due to oil and oil products.
